SYNOPSIS
Miguel Hernández was born in Orihuela (Alicante) in 1910, and is remembered for his simple poetry, but charged with emotion. His work and his life trajectory tell us about the imperious poetic and creative need of a man who did not renounce his passion, despite the adversities. From his humble and restrictive childhood, he made use of his good friends so as not to abandon reading. He traveled to Madrid on several occasions, with great effort and even greater concerns, to spread the style of great authors.
He met José María Cossío, García Lorca, Pablo Neruda and Vicente Aleixandre, but nothing would mark his vital and aesthetic evolution more than the theme of love that would move from the divine to the human, when he met Josefina Manresa. Committed to the events in the country from 1936 to 1939, he found himself in need of writing propaganda poetry. The saddest experiences, such as the death of his first child, or the hardships of the civil war would leave us legacies as deep as 'Nanas de la cebolla'. True to his militant past, he refused to join the new regime, and died in prison in 1942, after a long moral and physical hardship aggravated by tuberculosis, at only 32 years of age.
