SYNOPSIS

«Más allá de la alambrada: la memoria del horror. Mauthausen 1939-1945» tells the story of the thousands of Spanish Republicans who were deported to the Mauthausen death camp.

Through their testimonies we know first-hand the tragic fate that awaited them after the loss of the Civil War, their time in the French army until their deportation to Mauthausen.

On the 60th anniversary of the liberation by the allied forces, this documentary is a well-deserved tribute to the more than 5,000 anti-fascist Republicans who died in one of the worst places in the history of humanity.
